Hair removal with CLARITY II

Laser treatment has been among the most popular hair removal methods for many years. If troublesome body hair is disrupting your appearance, our modern laser technology can help you achieve smooth, flawless skin with long-lasting results. We individually tailor laser treatments to your skin type and needs. After just a few treatment sessions, body hair is visibly reduced.

At the prevention-center in Zurich, you’ll be treated by Dr Christian Köhler, a distinguished expert in the field of laser medicine. Dr Köhler was one of the first doctors in Switzerland to specialise in modern laser technologies. This means that, when you choose us, you can be sure of receiving high-quality, specialist treatment.

Dr Köhler uses the CLARITY II laser system – the latest generation of laser technology – to guarantee particularly gentle and comfortable hair removal. The CLARITY II system enables efficient, targeted treatment that protects the skin and can be precisely tailored to your needs. In fact, the CLARITY II laser treatment system can also be used to remove blood vessels and other skin alterations.

CLARITY II is part of the latest generation of laser systems and was primarily developed to achieve permanent hair removal. The system is a dual-wavelength treatment platform offering a wide range of functionalities and can be used for many different applications.

For permanent hair removal, the CLARITY II laser system precisely targets and destroys hair follicles and growth cells. This means that no new hairs can grow from them. The surrounding skin, however, remains unaffected.

Compared to older laser systems, the CLARITY II laser treatment system achieves enhanced results in shorter treatment times and is also very gentle to the skin. An integrated cooling system ensures that the treatment is even more comfortable for you. The system’s specially developed handpiece ensures safe and delicate application in practically every area of the body.

The CLARITY II platform’s wide range of functions makes it possible to offer each customer an individually tailored treatment. It can be used for applications ranging from hair removal, wrinkle treatments and refining large-pored skin to reducing the appearance of warts and pigmented spots. The CLARITY II laser system can also be used as part of a combination treatment.

What issues can CLARITY II treat?

Here at the prevention-center in Zurich, we primarily use the CLARITY II laser system for permanent hair removal. The dual-wavelength laser enables us to achieve positive results with all skin types and hair colours. We tailor every laser treatment to the patient’s individual skin type and needs. Permanent hair removal can treat areas including the legs, back, chest and face, as well as the armpits and the bikini area.

In addition, the laser platform allows for gentle treatment of a range of skin problems, such as pigmented spots, blood vessels, prominent leg veins, facial redness, warts and rosacea. We can also use laser treatment to significantly reduce the appearance of wrinkles and large pores, leaving the skin looking generally tauter and firmer.

What are the benefits of treatment using the CLARITY II system?

The CLARITY II laser system’s wide-ranging functionality means that treatments can be precisely tailored to customers’ needs. As a result, here in Zurich we can offer hair removal treatments perfectly tailored to your skin type and hair colour.

What exactly does permanent hair removal involve?

Permanent hair removal comprises several treatment sessions at four to eight-week intervals. We’ll explain the procedure to you in advance and discuss the benefits and risks of laser treatment. Then, we’ll prepare an individual treatment plan for you. The treatment itself only takes a few minutes and, as a general rule, does not involve any recovery time.

About 1 to 2 weeks after your first session, you’ll notice that hairs start to fall out. However, to achieve permanent hair removal, the laser treatment has to reach hairs during the growth phase. This allows us to ensure that the damaged hairs will not grow back at a later time. For this reason, it is important that we repeat the treatment several times to achieve the greatest possible effect.

Hair growth is reduced by 10% to 30% with every session. Overall, you can expect hair density to be reduced by more than 80%. Once removed, the hairs will not grow back at a later time.

What do I need to consider before and after hair removal treatment?

Before hair removal treatment, we ask that you thoroughly shave the areas to be treated. In the week leading up to your treatment, you should avoid sunbeds and visits to the solarium. You must not have plucked or waxed the areas to be treated for at least four weeks before treatment.

After laser treatment, it is important to protect the skin against UV radiation. Your body’s natural sun protection will be temporarily reduced, so you should wear sunscreen with a high sun protection factor (SPF) for a week after treatment. You should also avoid sunbathing for the first couple of weeks.

Slight redness may appear in the treated areas immediately after hair removal treatment. This is entirely normal and usually only persists for a matter of hours. Occasionally, this redness may be somewhat more pronounced. In this case, you should avoid scratching the red areas and allow the skin to heal of its own accord.

When will the treatment results become visible?

About 1 to 2 weeks after your first session, hairs will start to fall out. However, part of the hair will then grow back – which is why the treatment needs to be repeated several times at six to twelve-week intervals. In total, around 6 - 10 sessions are usually required to achieve the desired results. The exact scope of treatment can vary from patient to patient.
